Solutions Southern has been established in North Kent for over
twenty years specialising in low volume purpose made joinery
manufacture and fitting of doors windows and all aspects of
renovations to older properties.
A
few years ago we noticed a trend moving away from the uPVC
market in windows and doors especially with listed buildings and
Victorian properties householders seeking either to renovate
their existing Victorian windows with like for like in sashes
and cills to a recent innovation in draught proofing which is
almost invisible and yet permanent eliminating draughts and
rattles.
I have been
involved in producing box sashes of all shapes and sizes for
over 35 years. Lately the interest has been in producing box
sashes as double glazed units with low E Argon gas filled sealed
units fully draught proofed to Doc L specification all cill
replacement and new boxes are supplied with hardwood Meranti
sills which is a renewable hardwood. The sashes and other
components of the box are the best Scandinavian redwood. The
finished boxes are given one coat of preservative before priming
and finishing a full painting service can be offered on
completion. Joinery Solutions will install and finish each box
sash including any plastering works and the refitting of
curtains etc. The refurbishment of existing box sashes would
involve a free survey and costing of each box sash.
This could
include re-weighting of the sashes, new cords, new pulleys,
renewing existing dilapidated sashes supplied and fitted. The
refurbished box can then be draught proofed in the usual manner
as previously described.
